WORKING TITLE is Project [ BLANK ]’s fourth-annual exhibition of experimental art and music, featuring dozens of visual artists, filmmakers, sound and performance artists, composers, and musicians. This three-day, community-based event will include new works, world premieres, and thought-provoking performances featuring some of the most exciting creative voices in Southern California, Tijuana, and Baja California curated by Diana Benavidez and Leslie Ann Leytham. Join us on a pilgrimage of ideas, with bold new works that offer invocations and intercessions of sacred and profane inspiration.

CALL FOR WORKS

This year, WORKING TITLE explores the theme of Rituals. We invite artists to submit works that delve into the concept of rituals—whether sacred, mundane, or personal—spanning from ceremonial acts to everyday habits. This is an opportunity to reflect on how rituals connect us and shape our identities. Artists are encouraged to consider the exhibition space (St. Paul’s Cathedral) and present works that place the neo-gothic architecture in dialogue with new ideas. While existing works are welcome, they must actively engage with the theme and environment. All sculptural and installation pieces must be freestanding, as suspended works from the ceiling are not allowed. Wall space for 2-dimensional artwork is available but limited. It is preferred that video artists provide all necessary technical equipment, including projectors, but it is not a requirement.

We welcome submissions for live sound or music performances that can take place across all three nights, but we are also open to performances for just one night. Artist honorariums ranging from $150 - $400 will be offered to participating artists.
